The not so far Getaway

stay in our convenient wilderness

King Bedroom Upstairs

Looking to get away, but not that far away? Tired of camping in a parking lot, but know you're going to need WiFi and a soda? Cedar Canyon Retreat provides the best of both worlds! Nestled in the canyon woods, we are just 5 minutes up the canyon from Cedar City.
We have a variety of affordable accommodations, including our 3-bedroom log cabin, RV sites with full hookups, and several tent campsites.

Summer Updates

We look forward to making your "reopening" summer vacation in Southern Utah a great experience! A couple updates:
Campfires: We are currently restricting campfires, due to drought conditions and an official ban. We will release this restriction as soon as possible, but it is not likely until the August storms. We had a small wildfire a few miles away recently, so we are being extra careful. In the meantime, propane fires and charcoal are fine because they don't send up sparks.
Site Improvements: Thanks to the feedback of our first year guests, we recently re-leveled several sites; you'll like the improvement!
Big Rigs: If you have a trailer or motorhome over 36ft long, please review our page on big rigs. Based on our first year of experience with our small heavily wooded park, we have found that it is very difficult for us to accommodate a trailer or motorhome over 43ft long. Thank you for understanding.

Highway 14 is one of Utah's most scenic drives. In our neighborhood are arches, waterfalls, and plenty of room for hiking, biking, snowmobiling, and sledding. Cedar Breaks National Monument is 20 minutes away, while Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Brian Head Resort are just a short drive.
It is a beautiful place with plenty of things to do around the property. It snowed on our last night and it was just magical. I wish we could have stayed forever.

Really glad I found this get away place. Very homey and the hosts are very responsive. Will definitely recommend.
Amazing in so many ways. We will be back!
A fun place to get away and relax! The location is convenient to Cedar City and exploring the great outdoors. The owners are friendly and quick to respond to questions/concerns.
Location, location, location! What a beautiful place in the canyon, literally minutes from Cedar City and the Shakespearean Festival. Space to spread out a family or two. We especially enjoyed the garden with squash and corn growing, and the strawberry patch. Should we vacation in southern Utah again, this property would be our number one choice for accommodations.
Easily accessible from Cedar City, this property was a perfect retreat for our visit to the Cedar City Shakespeare Festival. We really enjoyed being out of town--the stars shine so brightly up the canyon! We loved sitting in the hottub between shows. Definitely worth a repeat visit!
We enjoyed the property with a lot of different amenities, the home was clean and comfortable and the views are amazing. Waking up in the mountains is amazing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The added amenities of the pool table and ping pong table were a hit with the kids! It was close to the city for a quick trip for forgotten supplies and yet we felt very secluded and away from it all because of the trees that keep it hidden from the road. The hosts were very responsive and helpful with questions we had both before our stay and during. Highly recommended!
Want time in an amazing resort with prices better than a hotel. Stay here. Quiet, comfortable, clean and such a blast for us. We wished we had more time! Will definitely come back!!!
This is easily the best campground I have experienced. I could not be happier.
